The Lucy Dillon Legacy Fund
On July 4, 2025 while attending a Texas youth camp, eight-year-old Lucy Dillon tragically lost her life. Bright beyond her years, Lucy brought immeasurable joy to her parents, Brandt and Lisa, and all those who had the privilege of knowing her. A strong leader, determined to be successful, she embraced every challenge and never quit no matter how difficult the challenge was. A fierce competitor and brilliant student, she excelled both in athletics and academics. She was a friend to all, had a gift for compassion, lifted up others during failures and routinely cheered for the underdog. We will miss her dearly and are determined to make sure her Light continues to Shine Bright in our lives and the lives of the people her fund touches.
Our Mission
The Bright Like Lucy Fund exists to help other children explore their dreams, take on new challenges and believe in themselves, whether in the classroom, on the court, or out in the world. Inspired by Lucy’s love of learning, her fearless spirit, and her infectious smile, we aim to keep her light shining by opening doors for other kids to dream big, play hard, and live brightly.

Scholarships
Lucy loved learning and approached school with determination, joy, and 100% effort. We have no doubt she would have gone on to college, embracing every challenge along the way. To honor her dedication, Bright Like Lucy will provide scholarships for graduating seniors, helping them pursue their own educational dreams with the same spirit of perseverance and passion that Lucy embodied.
STEM Programs
We support Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics programs locally and beyond, ensuring classrooms have the materials and resources needed to inspire curiosity and advance learning.
Athletics
We will provide scholarships for children to explore a wide range of athletic activities, helping them discover the value of competition, discipline, effort, and teamwork. The fund will also invest in improving playing fields and courts, creating safe and welcoming spaces for children to play and grow.
Animal Welfare
We will help organizations that care for animals in need, honoring Lucy’s love and compassion for all living things. Lucy had a special affection for dogs, whose playful spirit and loyalty brought her endless joy. She especially loved corgis and anything that featured them. By supporting animal welfare efforts, we carry forward her kindness and ensure that more dogs, and animals of all kinds, are given the chance to be safe, loved, and cherished.

We will seek out the underdog, offering coaching, scholarships, and financial support to help transform potential into success and turn the overlooked into the celebrated.

Our family is profoundly grateful for the outpouring of love and support we have received from friends, neighbors, and even those we have never met. In the hardest days of our lives, so many of you stepped forward with open hearts, kind hands, and unwavering compassion. Your prayers, your presence, and your generosity have carried us when we could not stand on our own. We are humbled, we are comforted, and we are forever thankful.
